A Message from Judge King Fifer
Dear Friends,
Since being elected in 2006, I have had the honor and pleasure of serving as your Judge of County Court at Law No. 2. I find this public service to be fulfilling work, and I have been diligent in living up to the trust you placed in me by working hard and being fair and impartial in the matters that come before me.

ABOUT JUDGE FIFER
Judicial & Legal Experience:
- Judge King Fifer was elected to the bench of County Court at Law No. 2 on November 7, 2006, and began serving Dallas County on January 1, 2007.
- Judge King Fifer was elected by his fellow Judges to serve as Local Administrative County Judge for 2007 and 2008.
- Prior to taking the bench, Judge Fifer accumulated many years of civil legal experience. His law practice focused on representing design professionals, including architects and engineers, and general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and individuals involved in construction litigation.
- As an attorney, Judge Fifer also gained considerable experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury litigation ranging from simple negligence to complex product liability litigation and medical malpractice.
Professional Involvements:
- Member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, and the Dallas Bar Association.
- Fellow of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation.
- Member of the Mac Taylor American Inn of Court.
- Judicial Panelist and Speaker for programs organized by the Dallas Bar Association, the Garland Bar Association, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the National Center for State Courts, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and Southern Methodist University School of Law.
- Judge for mock trials organized by the National High School Mock Trial Championship, the State High School Mock Trial Championship, and the American Association of Justice.
Education:
- After receiving his B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa, Judge Fifer became licensed to practice law in Texas in 1993.
Personal:
- Judge Fifer was born in Tyler, Texas, and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas. He and his wife Amy have two boys.
- Judge Fifer is active with the Lake Highlands YMCA Adventure Guides.
- Judge Fifer and his family are active members of First United Methodist Church in Downtown Dallas.
